I love all things taco. Beef tacos, Chicken tacos, Taco Salad, Taco Bars, Quesadillas, Enchiladas, Chimichangas... you get the picture. But NOTHING beats this Taco Dip! Seriously.
My favourite thing about it? How versatile it is. So, if you don't like a topping, omit it! If you want to add another one, do it! The opportunities are endless. Plus, with very minimal ingredients, not only is this taco dip SUPER EASY, but it's a crowd pleaser - trust me! And on top of that: you can make this ahead of time.

The first step, which can be done ahead of time, is to prep your toppings! Here are some topping ideas: -tomatoes
-iceberg lettuce (trust me on this one)
-shredded cheese
-olives
-peppers
-onions
-chives
Honestly, anything you'd add to tacos - you can add to this! That's why it's not your basic taco dip, because SURPRISE! You never know what you're going to get..
I do a very basic recipe, mostly because I have toddlers. & even with just iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, and cheese, it's a bound to be a crowd pleaser!!
Once you have your toppings all prepped (washed, and chopped), it's time for the best part.

Because I'm all about the base, about the base, no treble.. JK. Gotta love Meghan Trainor... Anyway.. here is the base recipe for the taco surprise dip!
BASE:
1 PKG Cream Cheese (softened)
1/4 C Greek Yogurt
3/4 C Salsa
1 PKG Taco Seasoning
NOTES:
*You can substitute Sour Cream for the Greek Yogurt. I use greek yogurt for a healthier option
*For salsa, use whatever flavour you want. Mild, Medium, or Hot! When serving this to others, I usually go for the mild. But when it's just for us, medium is the way to go!
*If you buy taco seasoning in BULK, you can use 3 TBSP seasoning.

Mix your base ingredients together, and spread into a 9x13 inch dish! Top with lettuce, and any additional toppings you want to offer! Serve with nachos!
*You can make this ahead too! Make your base, and prep the toppings, but don't top it with toppings until you're getting ready to serve. Store it in the fridge until you're ready to top.
