Simple Christmas Decor on a budget in 2021

I am all about simplifying this year in 2021. If there's anything I've learned over the last two years, it's to simplify. So this year, I'm keeping our Christmas Decor super simple, and I am also integrating more classic & traditional colours - including RED, which is totally out of my comfort zone.

In our bedroom, I FINALLY got these beautiful, simple throw pillows! (how many times can I say simple?) In my opinion, it was a splurge! I paid about $40 for the two pillows, which isn't that expensive if you're thinking long term, but when it comes to home decor, I struggle spending money on it right now when we're renting. So, I'm getting better! Adding this simple piece really helped to accentuate the master bedroom. & I truly feel great about that purchase. I also swapped out the pink blanket for this checkered black and red one, that I absolutely love! My mother-in-law sewed it for us, but you can find a similar one here. I hung up a beautiful DIY garland on our window! Everything from the garland is from the dollar store! I was completed shocked when I found these beautiful strands at the Dollar Store. Like look at those berries, and pine cones! AHH!

I also DIY'd this wreath - again, everything was purchased from the Dollar Store. (I might have to go back for more of these). You can watch the full video tutorial here. There is nothing more budget-friendly than the dollar store. I always make the joke that goes like this: "You don't know what you're looking for in the dollar store, the dollar store tells you what you're looking for.." as I blackout at DollarTree, and somehow my bill ends up being almost $100. Anyway.. I decided to hang this beautiful DIY Wreath above my kitchen sink, and I am OBSESSED with how it turned out! It matches my Christmas wreath on our front door, and really helps to bring all of the decor together nicely.

If we had a bigger kitchen, I would have made more of these wreaths, and hung them on our kitchen cabinets, or island chairs.. I have big dreams for our home, when we decide to purchase again! & Don't worry, I'll most definitely be taking y'all along that journey!

Next up, I can't even believe how freaking CUTE these Chalk Couture signs are! My mom is a Chalk Couture Consultant, and I look forward to her Christmas Decor Gifts every year. I've incorporated every single one of the pieces she made for me last year, into our home for this Christmas Season, as they arrived after Christmas 2020! If you are wanting some Christmas Clean & Decorating Motivation, make sure to check out the video where I set up everything I'm talking about in this blog post for Christmas 2021! My favourite place for Christmas decor, is of course the living room / mantle. I'm not going to lie, I've been searching for some Cypress Garland for what seems like an eternity, as again, I have this vision in my head for our mantle. So for now, it's not completely finished, & I will most likely change the entire thing.. you can watch what I did here.

Now, we will be decorating our Christmas Tree in December, as we do get a real tree! Do you get a real, or faux tree? Last year was the first year we got a real tree, and the experience was a total blast! The girls are so excited to go again this year. That's it for now - stay tuned for my next Christmas Decorate Blog, where I'll be sharing a PT 2, and showcasing the rest of the decor. Go ahead, keep it simple this year, put on a Christmas Music Playlist, and get in the Christmas Spirit! xoBW Update to the mantle:
