Scuffles are probably the best thing on this earth. Seriously though, if you have not tried these, you will never go another year without baking them - they're incredible. So today, I'm sharing with ya'll my favourite Holiday Baking Recipe, including a gluten free, and dairy free option!
This is a two-day scuffle recipe. The dough needs to cool overnight, so ensure you have enough time to make these. Trust me though, they're worth it. I also highly recommend double batching these, as they never seem to last too long. However, when I do make a double batch, I always make sure to make them in separate bowls. It makes it easier the following day for dividing up the dough.
Let's jump to the recipe!

Ingredients Soak 1 package of yeast in 1/4 Cup lukewarm water for 15-20 minutes. (If using quick-yeast, follow instructions, per package.) Mix Together as you would for a pie crust:
3 Cups of Flour (*see notes for Gluten Free Option)
3 TBSP of Sugar
1/2 tsp of Salt
1 Cup of Butter Than Add: 1/2 Cup of Milk (*see notes for Dairy Free Option)
2 Eggs
+ Yeast Mixture
Sugar Mixture:
1 Cup Sugar
2 TBSP cinnamon
Instructions:
Knead dough until soft. Place in a bowl, and let stand in the fridge overnight.
The next day:
Divide dough into four parts. Roll out each part of dough into four parts. Roll out each part of dough as you would a pie crust. Then sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar mix on both sides of dough.
Cut into wedges, as you would a pie and roll it from the wide end to the narrow end.
Bake for 20 minutes at 350.

Notes: *I like to double this recipe to ensure they last, as they go so fast! * Allow these to cool on a cooling rack, opposed to your baking sheet. (They burn quick if you leave them) *Gluten Free Option: Sub using this flour. This is the ONLY flour I have tried. Use a different one at your own risk.
*Dairy Free Option: sub equal parts unsweetened almond milk *Make sure to tag me over on Instagram if you try these!
