My Weekly Reset Routine

Writer: Brianne WalterBrianne Walter

Routines are my absolute FAV! I love everything about them. They help keep me organized, and help the house to run SMOOTH. One of my favourite routines is definitely my Weekly Reset Routine! A lot of people do their Weekly Reset's on Sundays. It's the day to prep for the week, and get the house set / ready! However, I do mine on Tuesday. Don't ask me why. I don't know. It's just what I love. Mostly because the grocery store is not busy mid-week. My weekly reset routine consists of: 1.) Clearing out the fridge. Go through everything. What went bad, and needs to be thrown in the trash? What is leaking, and needs to be cleaned up? I did an entire fridge organization video where I shared the whole process of this. (It's super budget friendly). The only thing is the containers, being from the Dollar Store do crack often, so the quality isn't that great. But if you're looking for budget-friendly, they're great, and work for the time being. Now, if you're looking for a more sturdier version, these have great reviews! This is a long process the first time, but it's so worth it to get it done! Than it's easier to maintain! I also love these containers because it makes for such an easier clean up in the future. 2.) Now that the fridge is cleaned out, and organized, it's time to refill it! Figure out what's for dinner this week, and get on with the good 'ol Grocery Shop! I like to make a list when I go grocery shopping to help me stick to the budget.

3.) Fridge Restock, and Pantry Restock! Organize as you're putting it away! Trust me, it's worth it to rotate the cans as you're going through them. These tasks might seem "tedious" or feel like they take more time, but it'll end up taking you less time in the long run. & I am all about time-saving hacks. 4.) Fruit & Veggies Prep for the week. I make a veggie tray every single week. It helps our family to eat healthy! When you're hungry, the LAST thing you want to do is prep up some fruit/veggies and a whip up a healthy snack. Why not prep it weekly, and grab and go as you need.

Another thing I love to grab from the Grocery Store is a rotisserie chicken. Sometimes I cut it up and freeze it. But often times, I prep it all, and save it in the fridge for easy, quick lunches. 5.) Clean Up Time! Now that the kitchen (A.K.A Fridge & Pantry is all restocked / ready to go for the week), it is now time to clean up! I've created some FREE Printables for you to download here. Cleaning up consists of:

-clearing the dishes out of the sink, and filling the dishwasher

-wiping down the counters

-wiping down the stovetop

-sweeping / vacuuming the kitchen floor

-mopping the kitchen floor

Everything for my weekly reset is done in the kitchen. You'll notice that as a homemaker, the kitchen is the #1 spot we spend most of our time. Therefore, it is often cleaned up the most, and a lot of daily tasks, consist of doing the dishes, and cleaning up the kitchen! I hope that this helps you to create your own weekly reset routine. Remember, what you do around your home matters. YOU matter. xoBW
