I remember trying to cook something awhile back that had the BEST ingredient ever: Bacon. The bad thing about bacon? The splatter. The having to watch it cook. And anything and everything that has to do with it cooking. Until ONE DAY.. my lovely MIL introduced to me: How to cook bacon in the oven. LIFE CHANGED.
Why cook it in the oven?
-Easy
-No splatter
-Quick
-You can make more at once (time saving)
-Hands off cooking
-perfectly cooked, crispy, make your mouth water BACON.
Trust me, once you do this, you'll never go back to cooking it on the stove. Read on to learn my method!
TIP: You CAN use a rack, but I've made do without one too. You'll have a lot less fat, and grease, using a rack.
Arrange your bacon on the rack, or baking tray. I can fit an entire package of bacon on ONE tray, if I slightly overlap them.
TIP: layer your baking tray with aluminum foil, and WRAP it around the tray for a easy cleanup!
Preheat oven to 375 and bake for 10 -15 minutes, flip, then bake an additional 5-8 minutes. The desired crispiness, and cut / thickness of the bacon will alter your cooking time. Ovens vary as well, but this is an approx. The "perfect" time for MY oven is 12 minutes, flip, then 4 minutes!
TIP: For really crispy bacon, don't overlap! Use 2 baking trays instead!
Use this bacon in salads, as a topping, on pizzas, in pasta, etc. The options are endless! If you enjoyed this, make sure to save it, and share it with your friends!!
