It's the most wonderful time of the year! My absolute favourite holiday is Christmas. A special time to connect, and get together with loved ones.
Every year the girls and I bake, and decorate some Christmas Cookies together. One of my fondest memories growing up was all of the Christmas baking we would do together as a family with my mom and our Gran. I am so happy to carry this tradition on through my kids, and hope they will do the same. If you prefer a video.. you can watch it here.
Today, I'm sharing this NO-FAIL sugar cookie recipe, as it is seriously the best I've found out there. This is NOT my original recipe! I found it on Pinterest YEARS ago, and have used it ever since, as it has never once failed me. & if you've ever baked sugar cookies before, you know they can be super tricky.

Sugar Cookie Recipe Ingredients 1 1/2 Cups butter, softened
2 Cups white sugar
4 Eggs 1 tsp vanilla extract 5 Cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
Directions
In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Stir in the flour, baking powder, and salt. Cover and chill dough for atleast 1 hour, overnight is preferred.
Preheat over to 400. Bake 6-8 minutes in preheated oven. Cool completely before icing the cookies.

When it comes to baking, and decorating, I highly recommend these silicone mats for your baking sheets! They're incredible, and better for the environment! On top of those, there's also this incredible silicone mat for the space you're creating on! Whether that be your island, kitchen counter, or your table, this mat is a MUST! It's not only super convenient, but also very easy to clean! & Don't forget about your KitchenAid Mixer! If you don't already have one of these, add it to your Christmas wishlist! ICING RECIPE Ingredients 2 Cups powdered sugar
2-4 TBSP milk
1 TBSP light corn syrup
1 tsp vanilla, almond, peppermint, or coconut extract
Food colouring of choice
Instructions
Combine powdered sugar, two tablespoons of milk, and corn syrup, adding more milk until icing is desired consistency. For piping and spreading you're looking fir a thicker icing. For dipping cookies, you'll want something a little bit thinner.
I hope you enjoy this recipe, and building the memories with your Family! Tag me over on IG @allthingslifebeauty if you end up trying it out - I would love to see your creations! xoBW
