Cheesy Brussel Sprout Casserole | NEW Recipe!

The only way to eat brussel sprouts is with a boat load of cheese, am I right!? (Even my toddler eats these!)



Well, Thanks to GiGi for this incredible recipe! It is the PERFECT side dish for Easter, Thanksgiving, & Christmas, or really, ANY meal for that matter, that's how good it is! My fav thing: it's super simple, and can prepped/made ahead of time!


*You can half the recipe if it's just for a Family of 4, or use the full recipe for a big side when cooking a feast. Either way, everyone will be asking you for this recipe!*



Ingredients: 2 pounds sprouts

3 TBSP butter

3 TBSP flour

1 tsp Dijon mustard

2 cups milk

3/4 t salt

1/2 tsp pepper

1/4 tsp nutmeg

1 cup shredded cheese




Breadcrumb Topping

Mix breadcrumbs with salt and pepper to taste, and melted butter.

Directions:

1.) Cut bottom of sprout off, and mark it with an "X "

2.) Cook brussel sprouts in boiling water for 7-9 min

3.) Drain, & refresh with cold water then cut in half! (Press water out of them)



(Cheese Sauce)


4.) In saucepan melt butter over med heat and cook for one min, stirring all the time.

5.) Add milk & continue to stir until sauce thickens!

6.) Stir in mustard, salt , pepper, and nutmeg! 7.) Remove from heat stir in half of cheese until melted

8.) Add in sprouts, and stir until evenly coated with sauce

OPTIONAL: 9.) Add Breadcrumb Topping &

10.) Bake in oven @350 for 10-20 minutes






TIPS: *If making ahead of time, you can prep all the way to Step 8, then put in casserole in the fridge. When ready to bake, remove from oven and bake for about 40-45 mins.
